Many thanks to the parents of children in Years 5 and 6 for supporting the WWII theme day. We are very grateful for the way in which you have all gone to such efforts to dress the children appropriately and send them into school to be evacuated! They got a great deal from the day and enjoyed the experience. Mrs. Griffiths had arranged for two of the people who had been in the recent production of the Coal House TV programme to come to speak to the children, show clips from the programme and tell them all about their experiences. The school cookery classroom was put to good use to find out about rationing and Morrison shelters were created in the Junior Hall. What better way to make history come alive?
