Child's Progress

9th December 2008

Dear Parents

We are always keen to ensure that you are fully informed about your child's progress and the life of the school. At the moment, this takes the form of:

    • letters,
    • Wednesday evening surgeries in the Infant area of the school
    • parent consultation evenings (October and July)
    • meeting with the school's SENCo, Mrs. Griffiths or the class teacher, on a termly basis so that parents of children with special educational needs are aware of the targets on their child's I.E.P. /I.A.P.
    • Leading to Reading meetings
    • Helping with maths homework and Find out about maths.
    • Foundation Phase workshops outlining what this new initiative means for the children and their learning.
    • The opportunity to work alongside your child in maths and English: (Spring Term). Provisional dates for this are Tuesday, 27th – Thursday, 29th January 2009.
    • We are disappointed that we have experienced difficulties with our school website but we hope to go online with this in the New Year. I hope you will find this a very useful point of contact. It will enable you to check homework tasks as well as any other important information you might require.
    • If you want to speak to your child's teacher in the Junior department of the school, you will usually be able to do so the same day. Please contact Mrs. Murphy to arrange a convenient time as all Junior teachers have extra-curricular clubs or meetings. Wednesday evening surgeries will continue to operate in the Infant area of the school.
    • If you feel that there is anything else which might be helpful in terms of maintaining good communication between home and school, please complete the slip below and return to school.

Best wishes

Mrs. K. Evans.
